FAQ for Clinicians

Evoke has been designed for patients who suffer from OA (mild to severe osteoarthritis), torn meniscus, or for people requiring load reduction and redistribution   

Provoke has been designed for patients who suffer from crossed ligaments (Torn ACL, MCL, LCL), torn medicus or knee instability 

The weight is around 8.5 oz. This is around 50% lighter than the average OA double upright hinged knee braces on the market. 

The weight is around 11.5 oz This is around 40% lighter than the average ligament double upright hinged knee braces on the market.

Note: For US-based orthotists with ABC accreditation, you will obtain 1 scientific CEU at the end of the training.

Our braces are made to handle up to 400lbs (181.4kg).

We recommend fitting your patient with an Evoke™ brace, as it provides unloading and stabilization.

Our recommendation is to use either of these options: iPhone/iPad, TechMed BodyScanner, Insignia or Vorum. 

Generally we can ship anywhere, depending on the situation. Email production@osskin.com to determine if your case fills our criteria.

Please fill out the replacement parts order form and send to OrtoPed. 

USA and part of the Hanger network:
Fill out the replacement parts order form using the product codes in the form, and submit the form via HangerDirect and email the same order form to production@osskin.com. 

USA and not part of the Hanger network:
Please fill out the replacement parts order form and send to production@osskin.com.

This applies only for USA.

The suggest coding is: L-Code 1846, which does not require PDAC approval. 

Please don’t send a fiberglass cast.

The reason being is that there may be a high likelihood that it may shatter or get lost during transit. Our recommendation would be to scan the cast with the landmarks clearly placed. 

FAQ for Patients

The brace will already be customized to your specific measurements and digitally modelized based off a scan of your leg. With your clinician, you can choose the color of your brace 

Yes, with our low-profile design, it can easily fit under any piece of loose clothing. 

This is the most optimal manufacturing process to get a truly custom bespoke fit brace. 

OssKin does not sell directly to patients. Our products are available through healthcare providers. Please contact your local healthcare provider in order to better assist you based on insurance coverage of our products.

We recommend hand washing all our products with a mild detergent and letting them air dry. Please do not put any products in the washing machine, dryer, or even the dishwasher, as this will compromise the material. 

  • Evoke: OssKin warrants the frame components to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years of the original patient. Straps, liners/covers, pads, pins, and other soft components are guaranteed free from defects in materials and workmanship for the first 6 months.

  • Provoke: OssKin warrants the frame components to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for 3 years of the original patient. Straps, liners/covers, pads, pins, and other soft components are guaranteed free from defects in materials and workmanship for the first 6 months.

Contact your clinician, and they will be able to order new replacement parts for you.

The cost of the braces depends on the insurance programs of the state/province that your reside in, plus your personal insurance. Our recommendation is that you contact your clinic to get a full scope of what is possible for you.

Contact your clinician, and they’ll be able to help you troubleshoot your brace migration. If needed, they will reach out to us directly while you’re present. 

When your brace arrives at the clinic, it is recommended that you meet with your clinician to have them demonstrate proper bracing technique. 

Reach out to your clinician, and they’ll be able to order a set of straps that are curated for sensitive skin. 

We don’t recommend applying glue of any kind without checking in with your clinician first.

They will most likely have the correct items on hand to help with these repairs or order replacement parts on your behalf.
